Edward P. Cooper, CPA, PC is a trusted Charlotte CPA firm providing accounting, tax planning, tax preparation, auditing / review, and advisory services to a range of privately owned businesses and nonprofit organizations. We partner with you to identify the goals and objectives you have for your business and work with you to achieve those goals.

Our mission is to serve our clients by providing accounting, tax and auditing services that go beyond the scope of services offered by most other traditional tax practitioners. We understand that our clients need an experienced CPA that they can reach quickly with a question or need, and one that speaks their language. As part of our ongoing tax planning services, we focus on minimizing tax exposure while also reducing audit risks. This allows our clients to have more peace of mind and that ultimately provides them more time to focus on growing their own businesses. As a commitment to the quality of our audit and review services, our firm takes part in the AICPA Peer Review Program by undergoing a peer review every three years. Our most recent peer reviews, all "passes" with no comments, are accessible here.

Our firm is also committed to the betterment of our community by providing pro bono tax services and volunteer time to selected local 501(c) organizations promoting worthy charitable causes.

Edward P. Cooper, CPA, MBA

Edward (Ed) Cooper has provided tax and accounting services to businesses and individuals for over 20 years. He founded the firm in 2008 with a goal to provide more personal and responsive services to small business clients. His prior professional experience included working at a large national CPA firm, large regional CPA firm, and local Charlotte CPA firm where he advanced to become a partner. In those firms Ed gained valuable tax and audit experience serving a wide range of businesses ranging from large public companies to small successful family owned businesses, in the manufacturing, services, real estate, and nonprofit organization areas.

Ed received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business (Accounting emphasis) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After a few years in public accounting, Ed furthered his goal of becoming a well rounded financial professional and earned an MBA degree from Indiana University.

Ed is a North Carolina CPA (#14723) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Carolina Association of CPAs. 

In his free time, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and son, and being outdoors. Ed resides with his family in Charlotte, of which he is a native.
